Is your Wedding DJ Working Part Time at a Monster Truck Ralley?

Warning… the ‘Wedding Grand Entrance’ described below should only be performed by a professional trained emcee (Master of Ceremonies).  If your DJ is simply a DJ, do not attempt this at your wedding.  Unless you drive a Monster Truck to crush cars.

Announcer Versus Emcee

Imagine your guests are seated waiting for you and your new husband to enter your wedding reception, a once in a lifetime event.  All at once your announcer bellows in his best ‘Monster Truck Voice’ “ARE YOU READY TO RUMBLE!!! This is the wedding party”. Your Wedding party comes out all at once, confused; some go to the bar, some go to the head table.   The announcer, still in his Monster Truck voice roars “For the first time anywhere in public… the Bride and Groom”.

There is a better, more personalized way to begin your reception.

Would it not have been better to let the guests know which of your bridesmaids is your sister, and that the best man introduced you to your husband in college. It would also have been better to have a second person (Professional Wedding Assistant) present to provide you and your wedding party direction and instruction.

This is one of many creative ways to have a professional emcee direct your personalized ‘Grand Entrance’.

If we are booked or if you have selected your entertainment; we still welcome your calls, emails, and welcome the opportunity to help you.

Cost per Minute of Weddings

Monday, January 17th, 2011

I just saw a video on a DJ web site and thought about the cost per minute of the average wedding:

http://www.facebook.com/pages/Amateur-Wedding-Disc-Jockeys-Problems-that-occur-with-cheap-DJs/138345172874147

There is a video on this page with the Cake Cutting taking 15 minutes,  Let’s say a  reception is six hours and the bride and groom arrive at the reception one hour into reception.  If you spend a modest conservation figure of $12,000.oo on your wedding day, including meals, venue costs, dress, cake, and everything else, you are paying $40 per minute; $50 per minute if it is a five hour reception.  That was at least a $500.00 delay and precious time forever lost on special day.

This is why we always bring an assistant to prevent any unnecessary delays and keep thing following along as smoothly as possible.  Just thinking of spending the $500.00 on a ten minute unnecessary delay hurts my head!
